Web Desk: With the start of the last ten days of Ramzan, thousands of worshippers have begun observing Itikaf at the Masjid al Haram and the Masjid e Nabawi.

In Saudi Arabia, the formal start of Itikaf began on the 20th fast of Ramzan, with more than 15,000 people registering in advance to observe the religious retreat.

According to authorities, special arrangements have been made for those observing Itikaf at both holy mosques, where worshippers remain engaged in prayers, supplications, and remembrance of Allah while seeking Laylat ul-Qadr, believed to be the holiest night of Ramzan.

Meanwhile, due to the tense situation in the Middle East and the cancellation of some international flights, an unusually large number of visitors has also been seen at the two holy mosques.

Itikaf is a spiritual and revered practice observed during the last ten days of Ramadan in which Muslims stay in a mosque and dedicate their time to worship, prayer, and reflection.

Every year, thousands of worshippers from around the world travel to Masjid al-Haram and Masjid e Nabawi to observe this Sunnah, hoping to attain the blessings of Laylat ul-Qadr, the “Night of Decree,” which is believed to be better than a thousand months of worship.
