Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza attended the Victory Day Celebration ceremony of Armed Forces of Turkiye.

Distinguished civilian and military officials, media personnel, business leaders, members of diplomatic community and civil society were present during the ceremony.

In his address, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza highlighted the enduring, time-tested strategic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkiye and reaffirmed shared resolve of both nations to further broaden and deepen this unique relationship across all domains, reflecting common values, mutual trust and strong partnership.

The CJCSC emphasized that Pakistan and Turkiye have always stood together in times of trial. He mentioned natural disasters, regional challenges, and defence cooperation as key examples. He recalled that relations between the two countries are rooted in shared faith, history, and cultural links. These bonds, he added, inspire stronger collaboration in the modern era.

General Mirza noted that the armed forces of both nations enjoy a long tradition of cooperation. This includes joint exercises, training programmes, and defence industry partnerships. He said these efforts boost professional skills and also support peace and stability in the region.

General Mirza praised Turkiye’s progress in defence technology. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s intention to expand cooperation in defence production and research. The CJCSC stressed that collaboration in trade, education, and science and technology will further strengthen bilateral ties.

Highlighting the people-to-people connection, General Mirza said the bond of brotherhood is deeply rooted in both nations. He assured that Pakistan will continue to work with Turkiye to promote prosperity and peace. This, he noted, applies to their regions and also to the global stage.

The Victory Day celebrations ended with a renewed spirit of friendship and partnership. The event reflected the shared hopes of Pakistan and Turkiye for a stronger future together.
