ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar Wednesday stated that terrorism remains one of the major global challenges today, and Pakistan is playing a proactive role in combating this menace.
Speaking at the International Parliamentary Speakers Conference in Islamabad, Ishaq Dar emphasized that dialogue, understanding, and partnership are the only sustainable paths to peace and security. He added that cowardly acts cannot shake or weaken Pakistan’s national resolve.
“We strongly condemn all forms of terrorist activities, whether they occur in our capital Islamabad, as happened yesterday, or anywhere else in the world,” he said. He highlighted recent double terrorist attacks in Wana and Islamabad that claimed 15 precious lives but noted that these attacks cannot undermine Pakistan’s determination.

Ishaq Dar pointed out that countering terrorism requires not only military operations and security measures but also social and political initiatives. “Through dialogue, understanding, and partnership, we can establish lasting peace and security,” he stressed.
He also called on the international community to adopt a collective strategy against terrorism, stating that Pakistan is ready to promote global cooperation in this regard. He emphasized that international collaboration and intelligence sharing must be strengthened to achieve success against terrorism.
The Deputy Prime Minister also praised the sacrifices of Pakistan’s internal and border security forces, acknowledging their relentless efforts to ensure that every Pakistani can live a safe and peaceful life.
Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment against terrorism, Ishaq Dar made it clear that sustainable peace cannot be achieved without dialogue and partnership. He affirmed that the recent attacks in Wana and Islamabad have not weakened Pakistan’s resolve, and the nation remains united and determined against all forms of terrorism.
