Civil society rally in Mirpur backs Pakistan, demands action against JAAC

A civil society protest rally was held at Chowk Shaheedan in Mirpur against the banned Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC). Participants expressed solidarity with Pakistan and called for lasting peace and stability in the country.


Carrying banners and placards, demonstrators chanted slogans in support of a peaceful society. The rally drew participation from people representing various segments of the community.


Addressing the gathering, political and community leaders, including assembly candidate Abdul Shakoor Mughal, called for strict legal action against individuals involved in activities that threaten public peace and state stability.
The speakers stressed that maintaining law and order is essential for society and said no banned or unlawful organisation should be allowed to disrupt public peace.


They also urged the government and law enforcement agencies to take immediate and effective action against such elements to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.


The speakers added that civil society would continue to stand for peace, tolerance and the rule of law, and would not support any activity that undermines the interests of the state or the public.
