The Abbottabad Bench of the Peshawar High Court has granted bail to all three suspects arrested in the murder case of five-year-old Ayat Noor from Haripur.
According to details, the Abbottabad Bench of the Peshawar High Court heard the bail applications of the three suspects arrested in the murder case of five-year-old Ayat Noor.
Arguments were presented on behalf of all three suspects. After the hearing, the court approved their bail against surety bonds of Rs100,000 each and ordered their release.
Earlier, the Additional District and Sessions Judge in Haripur had rejected the post-arrest bail applications of all three suspects. In its decision, the court had taken into account the nature of the case and the available investigation material.
The suspects later approached the Abbottabad Circuit Bench of the Peshawar High Court.
During the investigation, police arrested three suspects identified as Usman, Qasim and Talha. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was also formed to conduct a detailed investigation into the case.
However, after the investigation team failed to present sufficient evidence directly linking the arrested suspects to the murder, the court ordered their release on bail.
Five-year-old Ayat Noor had mysteriously gone missing while playing in Pathan Colony, Haripur. An abduction case was subsequently registered on the complaint of her father.
Fifteen days after her disappearance, the child’s body was recovered from a well inside a warehouse located on University Road.
With the help of CCTV footage, police identified five suspects allegedly involved in the abduction, three of whom were arrested.
