Web Desk: The controversy surrounding YouTuber and social media personality Rajab Butt’s visit to the family of late toddler Aizal has resurfaced after the child’s mother disputed claims that he provided financial assistance to the family.
A video circulating widely on social media shows Aizal’s mother rejecting suggestions that Butt financially supported the family during his visit.
She said Butt was the only TikTok personality to visit the family but denied receiving any money from him. She also alleged that the visit was primarily intended to produce material for his vlog.
Her comments have since triggered renewed discussion online over the purpose and circumstances of Butt’s visit.
Butt had visited Aizal’s mother in Karachi following the toddler’s death and publicly expressed support for the family’s call for justice.
During and after the visit, the YouTuber spoke against crimes targeting children and called for action against those responsible.
However, the visit came at a time when Butt was already facing criticism over comments from an earlier TikTok Live session that resurfaced on social media.
The resurfaced video contained an inappropriate remark concerning child sexual abuse, prompting widespread criticism of the social media personality.
Butt subsequently apologised publicly and acknowledged that the comment was unacceptable.
The controversy remained a backdrop to his later visit to Aizal’s family, with some social media users questioning whether his involvement was connected to the backlash he was facing.
Butt later addressed those accusations in one of his vlogs, denying that he had visited Aizal’s family to improve his public image.
He said he had spoken about the tragedy and prayed for the family before other social media personalities became involved in the case.
The YouTuber also questioned critics who, according to him, had not visited Aizal’s mother in the weeks following the tragedy but subsequently criticised him for doing so.
Aizal’s mother’s latest comments have now brought fresh scrutiny to the visit.
Her account directly disputes any suggestion that Butt gave the family financial support, while her claim that the visit was primarily related to vlog content has prompted further debate across social media.
