Afghan Taliban shelling in Bajaur

Afghan Taliban continue targeting Pakistan’s civilian population; three people, including two women, seriously injured in South Waziristan.

According to details, in the border area of Angoor Adda, in the village of Zalol, unprovoked firing by Afghan Taliban left three people, including two women, seriously injured.

Reports state that Afghan Taliban fired an artillery shell into Zalol Khel village, injuring two women and one man.

The injured have been identified as Rahimullah, his wife, and the wife of Zainullah.

According to sources, Afghan Taliban had been attempting for several days to infiltrate a faction of “Fitna al-Khawarij” into Pakistan. However, due to the vigilance of the Pakistan Army, all such infiltration attempts were foiled.

Frustrated by their failure, Afghan Taliban allegedly targeted Pakistan’s civilian population in Angoor Adda.

The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana for medical treatment.

Local residents strongly condemned the incident and demanded retaliatory action from the Pakistan Army.

It is noteworthy that under Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, Pakistan had previously carried out successful strikes against Khawarij hideouts in Afghanistan.

Following heavy losses and lack of support within Pakistan, Afghan Taliban are now accused of targeting civilian populations.

Similar incidents have previously been reported in Dir, Bajaur, Orakzai, Torkham, and North Waziristan, where Afghan Taliban allegedly targeted civilians multiple times.
