During March and April, Afghan Taliban frequently targeted the civilian areas which affected civilian population along the border region, causing significant human losses and injuries.
According to a report shared by Deputy Commissioner Bajaur, in the most serious reported incidents along the border area in Bajaur, 9 civilians were martyred, including 3 women and 6 children, while 12 others were injured. All victims were described as innocent civilians residing in border villages.
The report further stated that unprovoked shelling on the civilian areas caused monumental damage to civilian buildings and settlements, causing displacement of families.
DC Bajaur further stated that district administration, Security Forces and rescue teams immediately responded to all these incidents and provided every possible relief to the victims, including treatment of the injured and rehabilitation of the collapsed settlements.
It is further stated that the Security Forces in collaboration with district administration will conduct full-fledged rehabilitation move in the affected area and the victims, including compensation money to the martyrs and injured.
It is worth noting that in the face of all these incidents, Security forces responded in a befitting manner, inflicting human and physical losses on the enemy side and safeguarding the lives of citizens against heavy damages.
The citizens, including individuals from different walks of life, condemned this cross-border aggression and appealed the international organizations and media outlets to highlight the incidents on international forums.
