Floodwater enters homes in Peshawar

Peshawar has been affected by the urban flooding due to the heavy rain.

Assistant Commissioner has said that floodwater has entered homes in the city and the situation is worse at Warsak road, Peshawar.

He said that the authorities are trying their best and the DC is out in the field, overseeing the operation.

He highlighted that the houses built around the canals are being largely affected. According to him, the government is also providing assistance in this matter, and the situation is under control.

During the rescue operations, 256 people have been relocated from different areas of Peshawar to a safe place.

The rain started right after midnight and continued till the morning on Saturday.

According to reports, many areas in the city were submerged today.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) is currently working to resolve the situation and several areas have been cleared of rainwater.

The PDMA director general, along with the Rescue DG, visited the affected areas, met with residents, and assured them of full support.

A total of 50 dewatering pumps were installed at different locations by PDMA.
