Internet services restored in Pakistan following torrential rains

ISLAMABAD: Following torrential rains in many parts of Pakistan, internet services have been restored across the country, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) stated.

The PTCL spokesperson announced that internet services have been fully restored countrywide.

The spokesperson further said that yesterday, PTCL internet services faced disruption, but the issue has now been resolved and operations are back to normal.

Last night, PTCL said it is experiencing data connectivity challenges and that technical teams are working to restore services as quickly as possible.

The company apologized to customers for the disruption.

Until the issue was resolved, users faced slow or intermittent access.

PTCL said further updates will follow and reiterated its regret for the inconvenience.

Why was PTCL down in Pakistan?

According to reports, a major disruption in internet connectivity throughout Pakistan, with the backbone operator PTCL being heavily affected.

As a result, overall national internet connectivity dropped to just 20 per cent of normal levels.

“PTCL and Ufone services are currently facing data connectivity issues. Our teams are working diligently to restore services as quickly as possible. We apologise to our customers for this inconvenience,” said the PTCL spokesperson yesterday.
