Indian television actress Jayati Bhatia, co-star of renowned TV actress Dipika Kakar, has revealed that Dipika did not accept Islam in 2018 because she was marrying Shoaib Ibrahim.
During a recent interview, Jayati Bhatia said that her friend Dipika was going through a difficult phase in her life. During that period, Dipika visited the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, where she found peace of mind and gained strength.
According to Jayati Bhatia, Dipika later decided to embrace Islam of her own free will, and the decision had nothing to do with her marriage.
Jayati said Dipika herself had told her that it was completely her personal choice.
The veteran actress also rejected the impression that Dipika had accepted her husband’s religion simply because of him.
She said that Dipika and Shoaib have always supported each other wholeheartedly.
She added that after Shoaib was diagnosed with cancer in 2025, he stood by Dipika throughout every stage, while Dipika has also strongly supported Shoaib and his family for years.
It may be recalled that Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim got married in 2018 and the couple has a three-year-old son, Ruhan.
