Efforts are underway to bring the Pakistani passport in line with the highest international security standards.
A representative of an international passport security and advanced technology company visited the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports, where he met with Director General Hamad Ali Randhawa. During the meeting, the representative presented products and advanced solutions related to passport security and modern technology.
The meeting reviewed the possibility of introducing state-of-the-art security features in Pakistani passports and considered the use of advanced technology to further protect them against forgery and tampering. Discussions also focused on further improving the global acceptance of Pakistani passports and their ability to be verified quickly.
A representative of the international company gave a comprehensive briefing on modern passport security technologies. Security models and international best practices used by countries with the world’s most secure passports were also discussed.
Senior officers of the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports, technical teams, and forensic experts attended the meeting, during which the technical effectiveness and practical implementation of modern security solutions were examined in detail.
The initiative also aims to enhance the reliability and credibility of Pakistani travel prerequisites in line with evolving international security requirements. With theses advanced security solutions, authorities aim to make passport verification more efficient for immigration officials and other relevant agencies.
