Recently, Atif Aslam gave an interview to a well-known Indian YouTube channel, where he spoke openly about his fame, success and thoughts about quitting music.
Speaking about his fame, Atif Aslam said that he had no idea how he became successful and still does not know how it all happened. He said that after one song, you think, “Okay, what next?” And after another song, you start wondering whether people even like you. But after an album, the situation becomes more difficult because you begin to feel a sense of responsibility.
He said many people consider this success the result of hard work, but there was no extraordinary effort. According to him, Allah takes you to wherever He wants to see you, and that is what fame or success is all about.
Regarding quitting music, he said he had never thought about leaving music or giving up singing. However, he sometimes experiences creative blocks, and he believes that this is also necessary for an artist.
Atif Aslam further said that there comes a time when you feel empty. As an artist, you have to go through such phases and periods when you face creative blocks and cannot write anything. But eventually, there comes a time when you feel that the cup is full again. You sit quietly, thank Allah and enjoy that state.
