Web Desk: A woman was martyred and two passengers, including a child, were seriously injured after armed attackers opened fire on a passenger vehicle traveling from Zhob to Karachi in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province, officials said.
The attack took place near Manguchar in Kalat district, where unidentified gunmen targeted the vehicle as it was passing through the area.
According to local sources, the passenger vehicle was carrying travelers from Zhob to Karachi when the attackers opened fire.
A woman who was reportedly traveling to Karachi for medical treatment died at the scene after sustaining gunshot wounds.
Meanwhile, two other passengers, including a young child, suffered serious injuries in the attack. Rescue teams transported the wounded to a nearby hospital, where they were receiving medical care.
Following the attack, security forces and law enforcement personnel arrived at the site and surrounded the area.
Authorities launched a search operation to locate the attackers and gather evidence from the scene.
Security officials said they were using all available resources to identify and arrest those responsible for the shooting.
The incident adds to ongoing security concerns in Balochistan, a province that has witnessed repeated attacks targeting civilians, security personnel and transportation routes.
