PCB announces season 2 schools talent hunt

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the second season of its PCB Talent Hunt Program for Schools, aimed at promoting school cricket across the country and identifying emerging young talent.

According to local media, PCB Senior General Manager Domestic Cricket Usama Sharon and former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq made the announcement during a press conference.

PCB officials said that the 2026–27 edition of the program will feature 1,200 schools from 100 districts across Pakistan. In comparison, the inaugural season included schools from 39 districts. Following the success of the first edition, the scope of the program has been significantly expanded.

Training camps for participating schools will begin on August 10, while the tournament is scheduled to start on September 15. The competition will be held in four stages—district, divisional, provincial, and national levels.

The PCB also announced that all participating schools will receive financial support and technical assistance to ensure young cricketers have access to quality coaching, improved facilities, and equal opportunities to showcase their talent.

According to the PCB, the initiative aims to discover talented young cricketers from across the country, strengthen school cricket, and provide a strong pathway for future national players.

Young players from across the country is provided this opportunity by the PCB to display their talents. This platform provides them a golden chance to become part of national squad in future. This move exhibits PCB’s utmost struggle for real talent hunt transparency in selection of players for the national team.
