Web Desk: Security forces said they killed four more terrorists during ongoing operations in Balochistan, taking the reported death toll from the month-long Operation Shaban to 83.
The operation is being carried out jointly by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and police forces, according to security sources, who said troops were targeting terrorists through coordinated ground and aerial actions.
Officials said security personnel have continued intelligence-based operations against what they described as terrorists linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to by authorities as “Fitna al-Khawarij.”
Security sources said the latest actions inflicted significant losses on terrorist groups, with four additional fighters killed during operations in the area.
Authorities did not immediately provide details about the location of the latest clashes or the identities of those killed.
The security sources said the number of terrorists killed during Operation Shaban has now reached 83.
They added that since July 5, a total of 121 terrorists have been killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-led operations conducted across Balochistan.
The province has witnessed repeated terrorist attacks in recent months, prompting security forces to increase operations aimed at disrupting armed groups operating in the region.
Security officials said Operation Shaban would continue until the elimination of the remaining terrorists involved in violent activities in Balochistan.
Authorities have not provided a timeline for the conclusion of the operation, saying security forces would maintain pressure on terrorist networks in the province.
