Mirpur: Osman Mushtaq, an active member of the banned Awami Action Committee and a close associate of Khawaja Mehran, has announced his complete disassociation from the organization, distancing himself from all its activities and ideology.
In his statement, Osman Mushtaq said that he had participated in the Rawalakot sit-in alongside Khawaja Mehran. However, after closely observing the situation there, he realized that the organization had deviated from its original claims and agenda of advocating for public rights.
He stated that the Awami Action Committee initially raised its voice on public issues such as flour prices, electricity costs, and health cards, which was why he supported it. However, it later became evident that the group’s current conduct and activities reflected an agenda other than public welfare and rights.
Osman Mushtaq particularly appealed to the youth not to become part of any propaganda or incitement, urging them to understand the facts and stay away from elements attempting to mislead them. He added that young people should engage in positive and constructive activities to help promote stability and progress in society.
It is worth noting that JAAC police have been arresting JAAC individuals equipped with modern weapons, raising public concerns over its peaceful sit-ins and agitations. Noticing this, key members associated with JAAC have been distancing themselves from its activities.
