Web Desk: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has inducted three additional players into its ongoing red-ball cricket camp being held under the supervision of the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

According to reports, Abdullah Shafique, Kamran Ghulam, and Hamza Nazar have been added to the camp, while promising young batter Shahzaib Khan has been included in the white-ball camp.

The red-ball camp is currently taking place at the LCCA Ground, where players are participating in scenario-based practice matches. Batters and bowlers are being assigned specific targets and match situations to test their skills and decision-making abilities under varying conditions.

During the practice matches, NCA coaches are closely monitoring the performances of the participants. Batters are being given tasks based on different match scenarios, while bowlers are working according to detailed game plans designed by the coaching staff.

Sources say the latest additions to the camp have been made due to fitness concerns surrounding some squad members. Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan are reportedly dealing with fitness issues, prompting the PCB to call up additional players as a precautionary measure.

On the other hand, Pakistan cricket team’s former Test captain and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan is currently part of the national team’s red-ball training camp. Reports suggest that the wicketkeeper, who joined the camp a week late, has been undergoing rehabilitation under medical supervision and remains away from regular cricket practice.

Besides this, Pakistan’s left-handed batter Saud Shakeel is unlikely to be included in the Test squad for the upcoming tours of the West Indies and England due to fitness concerns.

According to sources, the middle-order batter is still recovering from an injury, making his participation in the squad doubtful.

Work is ongoing on his rehabilitation, while a replacement middle-order batter is being called up to the ongoing training camp as a precautionary measure.
