AJK is reported to see critical shortage of fuel owing to the ongoing ant state activities of the banned JAAC activists, disrupting the peace and daily life activities of the area.
According to reports, activists associated with the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) have allegedly targeted several petrol pumps and shops in certain areas, with reports of looting and vandalism emerging from multiple locations.
The incidents have caused fears and concerns among residents, many of whom have rushed to stock up on fuel, food, and other necessities. This panic buying and hoarding have further strained already limited supplies, accelerating shortages in several districts.
Besides, the situation has also affected the chain of normal transportation. Transporters and fuel suppliers are reportedly unwilling tocontinue their normal routine transportation due to fears of arson attacks, road blockades, and security threats. Several key routes have reportedly been affected, making it increasingly difficult to replenish stocks in towns and remote areas.
Furthermore, local businesses are also witnessing growing challenges as supply chains are badly affected. Shopkeepers have reported difficulties obtaining fresh inventories, while long queues have been observed at petrol stations in some locations where fuel remains available. Residents have expressed concern that prolonged disruptions could lead to wider shortages of essential commodities if transportation issues continue.
Meanwhile, the authorities concerned are monitoring developments closely and trying to bring the situation to its normal routine. Law enforcing agencies are trying to restore normal supply routes, but shortages and transportation disruptions continue to affect daily life across multiple regions of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
