NCERT launches six-week cybersecurity internship, how to apply?

Web Desk: National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT) has launched a cybersecurity internship program aimed at developing a skilled workforce to strengthen the country’s digital defenses amid growing cyber threats.

The initiative will provide university students and recent graduates with six weeks of hands-on training and exposure to real-world cybersecurity operations, according to an official announcement.

NCERT said eligible candidates can submit online applications for the internship program until June 16. The six-week training initiative is open to currently enrolled students as well as recent graduates seeking practical experience in the rapidly evolving cybersecurity sector.

The program forms part of broader efforts to enhance Pakistan’s cyber resilience by cultivating talent capable of addressing emerging digital security challenges.

To apply for the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT) Cybersecurity Internship Program:

  1. Check your eligibility
    • The program is open to currently enrolled students and recent graduates.
    • The internship duration is six weeks.
  2. Submit an online application
  3. Prepare supporting information
    • You may need to provide your educational details, contact information, CV/resume, and any relevant technical skills or certifications, depending on the application requirements.
  4. Await selection
    • Successful candidates will be notified and will receive hands-on training, mentorship from cybersecurity professionals, and opportunities to work on real cybersecurity projects.

  • Incident Response
  • Threat Intelligence
  • Vulnerability Management
  • Governance and Compliance
  • Digital Forensics
  • Software Testing
  • Artificial Intelligence Development

NCERT said selected interns will work alongside cybersecurity professionals and gain practical experience through involvement in live projects and operational assignments.

The program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by allowing participants to apply their knowledge in real-world cybersecurity environments.

Furthermore, interns will receive guidance and mentorship from experienced experts, helping them develop technical skills and professional competencies needed for careers in cyber defense and digital security.

The launch of the internship program reflects increasing emphasis on building a robust cybersecurity ecosystem as governments, businesses and critical infrastructure operators face increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

By investing in workforce development and practical training, NCERT aims to expand the pool of cybersecurity professionals equipped to safeguard Pakistan’s digital space and support the country’s growing technology sector.
