Web Desk: Pakistani actor Muneeb Butt appeared before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi after surrendering in connection with a case involving allegations of kidnapping facilitation and financial fraud. His legal team confirmed his appearance and said he complied with all court requirements.

Earlier, the Islamabad High Court granted Butt protective bail, which shielded him from arrest and allowed him to travel to Karachi for court proceedings. His lawyers argued that immediate arrest would have disrupted his ability to appear before the relevant jurisdiction. The court granted interim relief until the next hearing.

In Karachi, the ATC also approved interim bail after hearing initial arguments. The court accepted surety bonds submitted by the actor’s legal team and did not place him in judicial custody. Authorities have scheduled the next hearing for further proceedings.

According to case details under judicial review, investigators are examining allegations of short-term kidnapping linked to a financial dispute. Officials have not yet framed formal charges, and the exact scope of the allegations remains unclear. Legal observers say the inclusion of Anti-Terrorism Court provisions indicates the seriousness of the complaint, although the matter is still at an early stage.

The case has drawn public attention due to Butt’s profile in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. Supporters on social media have described the matter as a misunderstanding, while others have called for a transparent investigation. The actor has not issued a public statement following his court appearance, and his legal team has advised restraint until further hearings.

The court will next review the matter on the scheduled date, where investigators are expected to present additional findings. Butt must continue to comply with bail conditions, and failure to appear could result in cancellation of his interim relief.
