Digital traffic challan system “One App” has officially been launched in Rawalpindi to monitor and take action against traffic law violations.
According to the traffic police, an evidence-based traffic enforcement system has been introduced in the city for the first time, under which all challans will be issued with video proof to ensure transparency in enforcement actions.
A traffic police spokesperson said that video recordings of traffic violations will be securely stored and verifiable, while citizens’ CNICs, driving licenses, and FIR-related information can also be verified on the spot.
Similarly, vehicle ownership, fitness certificates, and route permits will be checked instantly.
Under the new system, digital action will not only be taken against traffic violations but also against encroachments and environmental violations. Through an integrated system, authorities will also be able to access e-challans, FIR status, and criminal records.
Citizens will be provided complete details of traffic violations through QR codes, allowing quick and easy access to information.
According to Chief Traffic Officer Farhan Aslam, action based on digital evidence will not only increase transparency but will also help enforce the law without discrimination. He said that the implementation of “One App” will improve traffic discipline and promote safer travel on roads.
