CM Punjab pays tribute to Shaheed Liaqat for averting tragedy

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has paid tribute to the villager from Jand who risked his life to stop a suicide bomber.


In a statement, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif saluted the great sacrifice of martyr Liaqat, a resident of a nearby village in Jand, and said that the sacrifice of martyr Liaqat will always be remembered. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also expressed sympathy with the family of martyr Liaqat.


Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also appreciated the Attock police team for giving a courageous response at the Khushhal Garh check post and said that every possible step will be taken to make Punjab safe and ensure the protection of citizens.

Earlier this day a suspicious person (a Khariji terrorist) was moving through the fields near Jand and Khushal Garh Bridge, Kohat, when Liaqat, a resident of Mankor village in Jand tehsil of Attock district, stopped him and asked for identification.


The suicide bomber, in panic, blew himself up, as a result of which the brave citizen Liaqat was martyred on the spot, while the Khariji attacker was also killed.

Martyr Liaqat stood like a wall of steel before the enemy and saved not only the checkpoint but also many precious lives nearby.
