Web Desk: Donald Trump on Friday sharply criticised major US media outlets, accusing them of spreading “false narratives” about his narrative on Iran. He insisted he faces no pressure to ease tensions with Tehran.
In a strongly worded statement, Trump said The New York Times and CNN misrepresented his stance.
Specifically, he rejected reports claiming he felt anxious to end a conflict with Iran. Instead, he said, “I have plenty of time,” while warning that “time is running out for Iran.”
Furthermore, Trump argued that sections of the media have lost credibility. He added that persistent misinformation has shaped a misleading narrative around U.S. policy.
Turning to military developments, Trump claimed Iran’s naval forces have suffered major losses. He said its fleet has effectively been pushed “to the bottom of the sea.” In addition, he stated that Iran’s air force no longer operates effectively.
Moreover, Trump said US actions have dismantled Iran’s defense systems, including radar infrastructure. He also claimed that Iran’s leadership structure has weakened significantly.
Meanwhile, Trump stressed that US measures against Iran remain strict. He described the blockade as “extremely tough” and warned that conditions could worsen further.
At the same time, he made clear that any deal with Iran would depend on U.S. interests. According to Trump, Washington will only pursue an agreement if it benefits the United States, its allies, and global stability.
“Any agreement will be based on American interests and the goal of maintaining international peace,” he said.
However, Trump did not provide evidence to support his claims about Iran’s military condition. So far, Iranian officials have not responded publicly.
Overall, the remarks come as tensions remain high between Washington and Tehran. Consequently, observers continue to watch closely for signs of escalation or a possible diplomatic breakthrough.
