US president has said that a deal with Iran could be signed by tonight, indicating that negotiations are in their final stages.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, he expressed hope that a breakthrough is expected despite long-standing tensions between Washington and Tehran.
Trump further told that both sides have made significant progress in recent discussions and that remaining issues are close to being resolved. He did not provide specific details about the terms of the potential agreement but described the situation as “very close to resolution.”
The statement comes at a time when US and Iran delegations are expected to arrive at Islamabad for the second round of talks delegation.Pakistan has been active in recent days, with multiple stakeholders involved in backdoor negotiations to secure a consensus.
Trump’s remarks have sparked widespread discussion in political and diplomatic circles, with analysts noting that previous attempts at such agreements have faced setbacks. However, his comments suggest optimism that a breakthrough may finally be within reach.
It is worth noting that Islamabad has made all arrangements for the second round of talks and the Capital has been put on high security protocols with the delegations expected to arrive till tomorrow’s morning.
Both US and Iran have expressed high confidence in Pakistan as a mediator with the world lauding the efforts of Field Marshal Asim Munir and PM Shehbaz Sharif.
