Afghan Taliban shelling in Bajaur

In the border area of Kat Kot village, Malik Shaheen, in Bajaur, alleged unprovoked shelling by the Afghan Taliban has resulted in the deaths of three civilians, including two children and a woman.

According to security sources, three others were critically injured and have been shifted to a nearby hospital.

Sources stated that the attack deliberately targeted the civilian population, creating fear and panic in the area. The loss of multiple members from a single family has intensified grief and anger among locals.

Security officials added that in recent days, the Afghan Taliban had been attempting to infiltrate militants (Fitna al-Khawarij) into Pakistan, but the Pakistan Army successfully foiled these attempts through timely action.

According to sources, following this failure, the Afghan Taliban carried out this aggressive act targeting civilians. In response, the Pakistan Army launched immediate retaliatory action and destroyed the gun positions from where the firing originated across the border.

It was further reported that Pakistani forces are targeting multiple Afghan Taliban posts adjacent to Bajaur, causing significant casualties to the opposing side.

Local residents strongly condemned the attack and expressed full solidarity with the security forces, reaffirming their support for efforts to ensure peace and protection in the region.
