According to recent reports, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will be buried in the city of Mashhad, which is also his hometown.


Before the burial, a large condolence gathering will be held in Tehran. After the ceremony, his body will be transferred to Mashhad for burial.
It has been reported that the condolence event in Tehran will take place at Imam Khomeini Hall.

However, the exact date of the burial in Mashhad has not yet been announced.

How long did he serve

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been the country’s highest political and religious authority since 1989, following the death of Ruhollah Khomeini. As Supreme Leader, he held ultimate control over Iran’s armed forces, judiciary, state broadcasting, and key national policies. His position made him one of the most powerful figures in the Middle East for more than three decades.
