iPhones likely to become more expensive in Pakistan

Following Apple’s announcement of price increases for its products, there are concerns that iPhones may also become more expensive in Pakistan.

According to details, the outgoing CEO of iPhone, Tim Cook, has confirmed that due to rising global component costs and a memory crisis, the company will be forced to increase the prices of its products.

In an exclusive interview with the The Wall Street Journal, Tim Cook said in clear terms, “Unfortunately, price increases have now become unavoidable. In my 40-year career, I have never seen market conditions like these.”

He further stated, “We are making every effort to absorb the heavy costs being passed on to us and protect our customers from these increases, but the situation has now become unbearable.”

Apple’s decision is expected to have a direct impact on the Pakistani market as well, where iPhones, MacBooks, and iPads could become even more expensive. According to the report, Apple does not have an official local presence in Pakistan, which means Pakistani consumers do not benefit from any regional pricing advantages and typically face the same price increases seen in global markets.

In contrast, Samsung operates officially in Pakistan and also has a local assembly plant. As a result, despite global price pressures, Samsung recently launched its Galaxy S26 lineup in Pakistan at comparatively more competitive prices than in some other markets. Apple users, however, are unlikely to receive similar relief.

While it remains unclear how much prices will increase and when the changes will take effect, Apple is preparing to introduce its new iPhone 18 lineup in the coming months following the conclusion of WWDC 2026. Prices are expected to be higher than those of the previous generation.

In addition, new MacBooks, iPads, and existing Apple products may also become more expensive later this year due to growing demand for artificial intelligence technologies and ongoing shortages of key components.

It is worth noting that Apple is not the only company facing these challenges. Major technology firms including HP, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Valve are also grappling with rising memory prices and supply-chain constraints.
