PTI protest at Swabi claims another life

A woman died in an ambulance after being stuck in heavy traffic at Swabi Interchange due to a protest by the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI).

The deceased was identified as Anwar Begum, a resident of Shireen Kot in Nowshera. She was being shifted for medical care when the ambulance got trapped due to road blockades, according to local sources.

Traffic disruptions were reported after a small group of PTI protesters blocked key roads in the area. Commuters faced severe difficulties, while emergency services struggled to move through the congestion.

Critics said such road closures create hardships for the public and directly affect daily life. They added that business activities suffer, daily wage workers lose income, patients face delays in reaching hospitals, and students experience disruption in education.
