The former national captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Pakistan Under-19 cricket team mentor have strongly criticised India’s conduct during the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup final. He described their conduct as unethical and contrary to the spirit of the game. He praised the U19 Pakistan cricket team for responding with sportsmanship and professionalism.

In the final, Pakistan delivered a commanding all-round performance in the finals. They defended a mammoth 348-run target. After that, they bowled India out for 156 in 26.2 overs. They clinched their maiden ACC U19 Asia Cup title with a comfortable 191-run victory.

After the triumph, speaking at a media conference, Sarfaraz did not hold back, “India’s behaviour during the game was not good, and their conduct was unethical.” He further added, “However, we celebrated the victory with sportsmanship because cricket should always be played in the right spirit. What India did is their own action.”

Sarfaraz also thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif by saying, “The Prime Minister has announced a reward of Rs. 10 million for each player, and in the future, these young cricketers will make the country proud.”

Sarfaraz also complimented the young players, especially Ahmed Hussain. He said, “Ahmed Hussain’s knock was as important as Sameer Minhas’ innings.”

The head coach Shahid Anwar also agreed with Sarfaraz Ahmed by saying, “We began a talent hunt on June 17, with nearly seventy players participating in trials. Each player was given four matches to prove himself. Those who performed consistently were invited to the final camp.”
