SYDNEY: The Bondi Beach shooter Sajid Akram, turned out to be Indian origin, according to the colleague of the shooter.

Australian media has shown footage of the colleague of Sajid Akram (50), who was killed in the police shootout, as saying that Sajid Akram was an Indian origin while his spouse was Italian.

Indian media which had launched a tirade of propaganda by saying that the father son duo shooters, Naveed Akram and Sajid Akram were Pakistani nationals. The propaganda was debunked by Pakistani authorities who said that there was no record of the father son duo being Pakistani nationals.

Indian media violating all journalistic norms were quick to blame Naveed Akram, a Pakistani citizen living in Sydney as the attacker of the Bondi Beach shooting

Naveed  Akram in a video message said that he was wrongly being blamed for the shooting just because he has the same name as the original shooter.

He said some media reports mentioned a suspect named Naveed Akram and this coincidence has led to false and damaging allegations against him.

Naveed Akram said Indian social media pages exploited the situation and shared his photos without consent.

He said accounts, mostly operating from India, falsely identified him as the shooter. Akram clarified he has no link to the attack.
