T20 World Cup 2026

Web Desk: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the official promotional poster for the T20 World cup 2026. However, it has stirred controversy as it did not feature a single player from Pakistan.

The poster for the T20 World cup 2026 released on ICC’s social media platform shows top names from England, Australia, India and Sri Lanka but not Pakistan. The absence of Pakistan from the poster especially Pakistan’s captain Salman Ali Agha absence has become an important point of online chatter. Many cricket fans are calling it disrespectful and deliberate.

The controversy has intensified the wider criticism received by ICC on its leadership structure. Jay Shah’s is serving as chairman and many fans are arguing that BCCI’s influence is growing in ICC. Many promotional decisions and marketing campaigns are said to be under this influence. Pakistan is often at a disadvantage due to this.

Complaints flooded on social media platforms soon after the poster went live. Many users accused that Pakistan is being sidelined from major global campaigns deliberately. Especially considering Pakistan’s strong cricket profile. Many commentators also are of the view that this is a troubling decision especially when tournament’s promotional drive is in full swing.

The T20 World cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by Sri Lanka and India from 7 February to 8 March. The online ticket sales have been opened. Pakistan is set to play its matches in Sri Lanka.
