Web Desk: Phase I ticket sales for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 officially opened on 11 December. Prices start at just 310.61 Pakistani rupees, INR 100 (around $1.11) in India and LKR 1,000 (approximately $3.26) in Sri Lanka. The organizers are offering more than two million tickets in this first phase, and they plan to announce details for Phase II sales shortly.

Pakistan-India Match tickets Sold out within an Hour

Tickets for the highly anticipated India-Pakistan clash in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 sold out within an hour of going on sale. The match, which is scheduled for 15 February in Colombo, had minimum ticket prices set at 1,500 Sri Lankan rupees. As a result, cricket fans from across the region rushed to secure their seats, thereby underscoring the enormous excitement and soaring demand surrounding one of the tournament’s most high-profile encounters.

Affordable Access for Fans


The organizers deliberately set low ticket prices to give cricket enthusiasts from all backgrounds an equal chance to attend the landmark 10th edition of the tournament, which India and Sri Lanka will co-host from 7 February to 8 March. On the opening day, Pakistan will face the Netherlands in Colombo; meanwhile, West Indies will take on Bangladesh in Kolkata, and later, India will play against the USA in Mumbai.

ICC Emphasizes Accessibility


ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta highlighted the focus on affordability. “Phase I of ticket sales is a key milestone in making this ICC event the most accessible and global ever,” he said. “Our goal is for every fan, regardless of geography or financial means, to experience world-class cricket live. By starting tickets at just ₹100 and LKR1,000, we are ensuring millions can be part of this celebration, feeling the energy and excitement that only a stadium can provide.”

Tournament Structure and Venues


The 2026 edition will feature 20 teams competing across 55 matches, beginning with group-stage games and leading into the knockout rounds. The tournament will take place in eight stadiums across India and Sri Lanka, including Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, and Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo), Singhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground (Colombo), and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium (Kandy).

BCCI Honorary Secretary Devajit Saikia emphasized how the nominal prices will significantly enhance fan excitement. “For instance, tickets starting as low as ₹100 multiply the thrill around the T20 World Cup. Moreover, we are committed to creating a world-class match-day experience with modern facilities, smooth logistics, and stadiums buzzing with energy,” he said.

Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley de Silva also expressed enthusiasm about the event. “We are proud to co-host this prestigious tournament alongside India and look forward to welcoming fans from across the world. With Phase I tickets now available, we encourage everyone to secure their seats early to ensure they don’t miss a single moment of the action,” he said.
