Lahore: Lahore Qalandars on Monday announced the renewal of their Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise agreement for an additional 10 years, reaffirming their commitment to the growth of cricket in Pakistan. The decision follows a recent valuation by Ernst & Young, which highlighted the franchise’s rising global stature.

Franchise Renewal Highlights Confidence in PSL

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said the renewal reflects Lahore Qalandars’ strong confidence in the PSL, adding that the franchise has transformed into a global brand under its owners’ stewardship. He praised the team for its consistent efforts to promote cricket talent across Pakistan.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer noted that Lahore Qalandars’ energy and passion have become synonymous with the league itself. He also highlighted the franchise’s talent development program, calling it a “nursery” that has infused new blood into Pakistan cricket.

Impressive Track Record and Future Plans

Under Shaheen Afridi’s leadership, Lahore Qalandars have won three PSL titles in four years, demonstrating their competitive edge. The PSL will expand to eight teams in its 11th edition, further broadening opportunities for players and franchises alike, according to the league CEO.
