PML-N sweeps most NA, PA seats in by-elections

ISLAMABAD: The results of the by-elections for six National Assembly (NA) and seven Punjab Assembly (PA) seats have been finalized.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) secured all six National Assembly seats, including NA-18 Haripur, the seat vacated by PTI’s Umar Ayub following his disqualification due to his conviction in May 9 riots case. In the Punjab Assembly, PML-N won six out of seven seats, while one seat went to a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate. PML-N also emerged victorious in the previously vacated seat Malik Ahmed Khan Bhucharki.

In NA-18, PML-N’s Babar Nawaz Khan received 163,996 votes, according to unofficial results, while independent candidate Shehrnaz Umar Ayub trailed with 120,220 votes. Babar Nawaz Khan led by 43,776 votes, with voter turnout recorded at 42.9 percent.

In NA-96 Faisalabad, covering all 345 polling stations, PML-N candidate Bilal Badr Chaudhry won with 93,009 votes, followed by independent candidate Malik Nawab Sher Wesir, who received 43,025 votes.

In NA-104 Faisalabad, across 375 polling stations, PML-N’s Raja Daniyal Ahmed emerged victorious with 52,791 votes, while independent Rana Adnan Javed came in second with 19,262 votes.

In NA-129 Lahore, PML-N’s Hafiz Noman won with 63,441 votes, while independent candidate Arsalan Ahmed secured 29,099 votes.

In NA-143 Sahiwal, covering all 442 polling stations, PML-N’s Chaudhry Tufail Jutt claimed victory with 119,334 votes, while independent candidate Zarar Akbar received 9,462 votes.

In NA-185 Dera Ghazi Khan, across 226 polling stations, PML-N’s Sardar Mahmood Qadir Laghari won with 82,419 votes, followed by PPP’s Dost Muhammad Khosa with 49,266 votes.

In the Punjab Assembly constituencies, PML-N candidate Sultan Ali Ranjha won PP-73 Sargodha with 71,770 votes, while independent candidate Mohsin Raza received 12,970 votes.

In PP-87 Mianwali, PML-N’s Ali Haider Khan secured 67,986 votes, defeating independent candidate Nawabzada Ayaz Khan, who got 6,371 votes.

In PP-98 Faisalabad, PML-N’s Azad Ali Tabassum won with 44,388 votes, followed by independent candidate Muhammad Ajmal with 35,246 votes.

In PP-115 Faisalabad, PML-N candidate Muhammad Tahir Pervez received 49,046 votes, while independent Muhammad Asghar came second with 1,898 votes.

In PP-116 Faisalabad, PML-N’s Rana Ahmed Shaharyar won with 48,824 votes, with independent candidate Asghar Ali Qaiser receiving 11,429 votes.

In PP-203 Sahiwal, PML-N’s Hanif Jutt claimed victory with 45,073 votes, while independent candidate Falak Sher Dogar secured 10,670 votes.

PP-269 Muzaffargarh went to PPP candidate Mian Alamdar Abbas Qureshi, who received 55,818 votes, defeating independent candidate Muhammad Iqbal Khan, who got 46,320 votes.
