Harasser of Journalist Shahzeb Khanzada in Canada Identified

ISLAMABAD: The perpetrator who harassed senior anchor Shahzeb Khanzada at a shopping mall in Canada and recorded the incident has been identified.

According to journalist Safina Khan, the individual is Shahid Bhatti, also known as Shahid Aziz Bhatti. In her X post, Khan stated that Bhatti is a Pakistani-origin resident of Mississauga, Ontario, originally from Gujranwala.

She added that Bhatti is involved in real estate through Home Leader Realty Inc. and Earn Max Realty Point.

Reports indicate that Bhatti is an active supporter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and has a history of posting anti-army propaganda, hate-filled content, and misinformation online.

Khan noted that Bhatti’s posts are full of hate, misinformation, and trolling, emphasizing that his behaviour cannot be considered activism.

“It’s bullying, intimidation, and the worst form of political thuggery exported abroad by PTI’s toxic digital mob. Canada doesn’t allow this nonsense, and neither should Pakistan. Such people must be held accountable before this hate culture spreads any further,” she wrote.

Critics have described Bhatti’s actions not as political activism but as bullying and intimidation targeting journalists and their families.

Observers have stressed that such behaviour constitutes political thuggery exported abroad and highlighted that Canada’s laws do not tolerate such harassment. Calls have been made for accountability to prevent the further spread of this culture of online and offline intimidation.
