Former CGS

Former Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General (retd) Muhammad Saeed has said that terrorists may try to advance towards more cities in the next few days.

Former Army officer Muhammad Saeed, while talking to the private media channel, remarked that the purpose of terrorism in Wana and Islamabad is to spread chaos so that people, out of fear, ask the leadership not to be harsh with Afghanistan and that Afghanistan should be given the three to four concessions it wants, but that will not happen.

Meanwhile, defense analyst Brigadier (retd) Ahmed Saeed Minhas described the terrorist incidents in Wana and Islamabad as the result of a nexus between India and the Afghan Taliban.

National security expert Syed Muhammad Ali also said in a conversation with the private media channel that the Indian government is using terrorism to influence the Bihar elections, and the Afghan Taliban have forgotten Pakistan’s favors to please India.

Major General (retd) Zahid Mahmood stated that India’s internal politics and differences between Afghan groups are the causes of terrorism, and Pakistan will give a full response.

Defense analyst Dr. Qamar Cheema also mentioned that Pakistan should start a discussion in the Islamic world that we have to eliminate these terrorists. Today, Pakistan is the target; tomorrow it could be another country, he added.

Former Chief of General Staff (CGS) of the Pakistan Army, Muhammad Saeed, has tweeted on X that the 27th Constitutional Amendment is meant to modernise defence management, not to give more power to the military.

He wrote a tweet on X in bullet points to explain the 27th Constitutional Amendment. He said on X, “ Criticism on the 27th Constitutional Amendment – my take :-

The amendment is about *modernisation and clarity*, not concentration of power.

Purpose of the Amendment

▪ The 27th Amendment aims to modernise defence management in line with global military models.

Seeks to eliminate duplication and improve strategic coordination.

▪ Reflects the changing character of war, hybrid, MDO, etc, requiring rapid decision cycles.

▪ Creates a single, empowered advisor to handle complexities in military matters — a model adopted by all major militaries.”
