JUI leader shot dead in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: Unidentified assailants opened fire on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) leader and prominent religious scholar Hafiz Abdul Salam Arif on Tuesday in Charsadda’s Mandani tehsil.

According to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), the JUI leader died on the spot.

CTD officials said the assailants fled the scene after carrying out the brutal attack.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
