LAHORE: An investigation has been initiated into the controversial decision to impose a lifetime ban on Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem’s coach, Salman Butt.
According to details, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) adjudicators have summoned the Athletics Federation, along with athlete Arshad Nadeem and coach Salman Butt, on November 3.
The hearing will be conducted under the supervision of Senator Pervaiz Rasheed. The federal government had earlier taken notice of the Athletics Federation’s disputed decision and directed the PSB to carry out an impartial inquiry.
It is worth mentioning that the Athletics Federation had abruptly banned coach Salman Butt for life. Salman Butt, however, dismissed the allegations against him, terming them as driven by personal bias and prejudice.
