Tight Security in Lahore as Pakistan Faces SA in Second T20

Lahore: The second T20 match between Pakistan and South Africa is being played today at Gaddafi Stadium under tight security arrangements.

Special police contingents have been deployed in and around the stadium, while strict security measures have been implemented at all entry and exit points. The third and final match of the series will also be held at the same venue on November 1.

Lahore’s Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana said that comprehensive security has been provided to both local and foreign players as well as cricket fans. He added that Lahore Police is committed to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for the promotion of sports.

The CCPO directed supervisory officers to maintain close coordination with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and other concerned departments. Teams from Dolphin Squad, Special Protection Unit, and Elite Force will conduct continuous patrolling during the match.

According to Bilal Siddique Kamyana, all key points are being monitored through Punjab Safe Cities Authority cameras, while a detailed traffic management plan has been devised to ensure smooth flow.

He further instructed all personnel on duty to remain vigilant and perform their responsibilities diligently. Lahore Police, he added, is taking every possible measure to protect citizens and support the growth of sports in the city.

Lahore Set for a Cricket Carnival

The Gaddafi Stadium is ready for two nights of electrifying cricket. “The response from fans has been phenomenal,” a PCB spokesperson told media. “We expect a full house for both matches, which will create an incredible atmosphere for players and spectators alike.”

With South Africa looking to seal the series and Pakistan determined to force a decider, the Lahore double-header promises intense competition, roaring crowds and the kind of cricket spectacle fans have waited for all season.

Tickets sold

Cricket fever grips Lahore as fans have bought all tickets for the second and third T20 Internationals between Pakistan and South Africa, officials from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed.

Furthermore, officials said the overwhelming response clearly reflects the growing excitement surrounding Pakistan’s attempt to level the series after a narrow defeat in the opening game.

Match Schedule

Pakistan and South Africa will face off in the second T20 match today, followed by the third and final clash on Saturday November 1, with both games scheduled at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

South Africa currently leads the three-match series 1–0 after winning the opening game in Rawalpindi by 55 runs. The third and final T20 match will also be held in Lahore on Saturday.

Following the T20 series, both teams will head to Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, for a three-match One Day International (ODI) series, scheduled for November 4, 6, and 8.

In the first T20,  after winning the toss, Pakistan elected to field first at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
