NEW DELHI: U.S. President Donald Trump launched a scathing verbal attack on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a “bloody killer” at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in South Korea.
During his address, President Trump once again claimed to have played a decisive role in bringing about a ceasefire between Pakistan and India. However, his remarks targeting Modi have sparked fresh tensions between Washington and New Delhi.
Taking a jibe at the Indian premier, Trump said, “Modi looks good on the outside but is as tough as a killer inside.”
Mocking Modi’s tone and style, Trump added sarcastically, “‘No, we will fight!’ And I thought—Is this the same man I once knew?”
Trump’s recent comments have deepened cracks in US-India relations and once again exposed what he described as Modi’s duplicity.
