PESHAWAR: Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar announced the results of the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025 within just 24 hours of its peaceful and transparent conduct, setting a new benchmark for efficiency and professionalism.
According to KMU, a total of 39,986 candidates had registered for the test, out of which 38,447 appeared, marking a participation rate of 96 percent. Meanwhile, 1,539 candidates, or 4 percent, were absent, and one case was reported under the Unfair Means (UFM) category.
As per the official results, 894 candidates (2.33%) scored between 170–180 marks, 3,516 (9.15%) between 160–169, 3,658 (9.51%) between 150–159, 3,253 (8.46%) between 140–149, 3,115 (8.10%) between 130–139, 2,961 (7.70%) between 120–129, 3,080 (8.01%) between 110–119, 2,887 (7.51%) between 100–109, and 2,817 (7.33%) between 90–99 marks. Meanwhile, 12,258 candidates (31.88%) scored 89 or below.
Overall analysis showed that 53.26 percent of candidates secured 55 percent or higher marks, qualifying for MBBS admission under PMDC policy, while 58.43 percent achieved 50 percent or above, making them eligible for BDS programs.
KMU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zia ul Haq congratulated all successful candidates and their parents, extending best wishes for their academic and professional futures. He said the timely announcement of results within 24 hours reflected the KMU team’s dedication and professionalism.
Dr. Zia ul Haq added that this achievement was a matter of pride not only for KMU but also for the provincial government and the entire province. He further announced that admissions to public sector medical and dental colleges would commence soon, followed by admissions to private institutions in the next phase.
