The Hong Kong Sixes, founded 33 years ago, is known for its fast-paced and entertaining format that distinguishes it from other cricket tournaments around the world. This year’s event is expected to be particularly exciting, showcasing some of cricket’s emerging stars.
According to Bargee Shroff, Chairperson of Cricket Hong Kong, China, the Hong Kong Sixes is more than just a cricket event — it symbolizes community spirit and shared passion for the game. “The tournament brings together fans and players from all walks of life and reflects our rich sporting culture,” he said.
After the group stage, the top two teams from each pool will advance to the quarterfinals. The quarterfinal winners will move on to the Cup semifinals, while the losing sides will contest the Plate semifinals. The bottom teams from each group will take part in the Bowls competition. A total of 29 matches will be played over three days, with each game consisting of six overs per side. Each team will field six players, and every bowler (except the wicketkeeper) can bowl a maximum of two overs.
