Web desk: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has decided to personally pay the fine imposed on fast bowler Haris Rauf, sources said.
The development comes after the ICC fined both India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan’s Rauf 30 per cent of their match fees for breaching the code of conduct during the heated Pakistan-India clash on September 14.
According to reports, Yadav’s post-match remarks were considered political as he dedicated India’s win to the country’s armed forces and the victims of a recent altercation.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has found Indian cricket team captain Suryakumar Yadav guilty of breaching the code of conduct, according to sources.
His plea of not guilty was dismissed by ICC match referee Richie Richardson.
On Friday, Rauf and fellow Pakistani player Sahibzada Farhan also faced disciplinary hearings over incidents during the Super Four encounter on September 21.
Farhan was questioned for a “gun celebration” after completing his half-century, while Rauf was cited for gestures referencing the downing of aircraft.
Both players are awaiting confirmation of any further sanctions.
The PCB had earlier filed an official complaint to the ICC against Yadav’s comments following the September 14 fixture, describing them as a breach of rules prohibiting political statements.
