Pakistan’s balanced foreign policy wins global recognition, says The Diplomat

Web desk: Pakistan’s balanced foreign policy and effective military diplomacy are winning recognition on the global stage. An international report by The Diplomat highlighted Pakistan’s growing importance in world affairs.

The Diplomat is a ‘premier international current-affairs magazine for the Asia-Pacific region.’

According to the magazine, US strategic priorities have shifted, showing a clear tilt toward Pakistan instead of India. Pakistan now plays an important role for Washington in both South Asia and the Middle East.

The recent Pakistan-India conflict changed America’s assessment of regional military power. The Diplomat noted that India now struggles to act as a “net security provider.”

Strengthening Pakistan-US relations has improved alignment of shared interests. Washington no longer views India as its alternative partner in South Asia, a shift that has worried New Delhi, says the source.

It further adds that, for years, India held a central place in US priorities. But that era has ended. In contrast, Pakistan has repeatedly shown a willingness to improve ties with India.

Islamabad says New Delhi always responded to peace offers with more tension. It also accused India of increasing covert interference in Balochistan and carrying out targeted killings.

Previously, the Pakistan-India clash in May 2025 raised fears of nuclear escalation. The US stepped in and played a key role in brokering a ceasefire. “In recognition of his decisive diplomatic intervention and pivotal leadership during the recent India-Pakistan crisis,” Pakistan nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
