CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad meets Qatar’s Deputy PM in Doha

WEBDESK: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza met Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, as well as Qatar’s Armed Forces Chief, Lieutenant General (Pilot) Jassim Mohammad Ahmed Al-Mannal, during his visit to Doha on Thursday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Sahir is in Qatar to take part in the second round of the Higher Military Cooperation Committee (HMCC) meeting between Pakistan and Qatar.

Both sides discussed regional security developments and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace and stability at both regional and global levels.

General Sahir highlighted the historic and close ties between Pakistan and Qatar, stressing opportunities for future defence and security cooperation within the HMCC framework.

The Qatari leadership praised Pakistan’s key role in regional stability and acknowledged the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.

Earlier, General Sahir was welcomed at the Qatar Armed Forces Headquarters, where a military contingent presented him with a Guard of Honour.
