Acting on further intelligence regarding another group operating in the same vicinity, security forces conducted a second intelligence-based operation. This resulted in the elimination of eleven more militants.

Sanitisation efforts are ongoing to ensure no remaining elements of the Indian-sponsored network remain in the region. Officials said the operations form part of the ongoing counter-terrorism drive under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, aimed at eradicating foreign-supported terrorism from the country.

President Zardari also commended the determination and professional competence of the security forces for dismantling what he termed a terrorist network supported by India.
