ISLAMABAD: A wave of panic spread in Bengaluru, Karnataka, after the Wi-Fi ID of a private bank was found renamed as “Pakistan Zindabad.”
According to Indian media reports, two days ago, a man named Govardhan Singh noticed the suspicious Wi-Fi network at the bank and lodged a complaint with the police.
The complainant is said to be associated with Bajrang Dal, the youth wing of the hardline Hindu organization Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). Bajrang Dal members alleged that anti-national elements were operating in the area.
Meanwhile, the bank clarified that a local technician had been hired for maintenance, and the Wi-Fi name changed following his work.
Police stated that when they tried to contact the technician for investigation, he had already left the bank and his phone was now switched off.
Following the complaint, the police registered a case and launched a search for the technician. However, authorities have yet to locate him.
