Veteran Pakistani actor Waseem Abbas has revealed the reason behind his divorce from actress Saba Hameed after 29 years of marriage.
Waseem Abbas recently appeared as a guest on a podcast, where he spoke candidly on a range of topics. Reflecting on his second marriage, he said, “My second marriage lasted 29 years, and then it ended in divorce.”
The actor said there is nothing wrong with divorce, adding that his prayers are still with Saba Hameed and that he wishes her happiness.
Explaining the reason for their separation, Waseem Abbas said that during disagreements, it is not always the case that one person is right and the other is wrong. Sometimes, both individuals have valid perspectives and reasons. Rather than continuing in a difficult relationship, they may decide it is better to part ways.
He added that there is no shame in a husband and wife separating with mutual respect. The couple did not have children together, a decision they had made at the time of their marriage. Waseem Abbas already had four children from his first marriage, while Saba Hameed had two children from hers, so they felt there was no need to have more children.
He said they still spent 29 years together, but over time the emotions that had sustained their relationship gradually faded, leading them to separate.
Waseem Abbas emphasized that there is no resentment between them. He said they would still greet each other respectfully if they met, and if they were cast together in a television drama, they would have no hesitation in working together again.
