WANA:  Atleast 115 individuals have been safely rescued from the Wana Cadet College and efforts to evacuate cadets from the college premises are ongoing, according to security sources.

The operation comes after a militant attack on November 10, when an Afghan Khawarij rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the college’s main gate. The blast destroyed the gate and damaged nearby buildings. Quick action by Pakistan Army soldiers led to the immediate killing of two militants on the spot.

According to security sources, approximately 650 people were present at Wana Cadet College at the time of the attack.

So far, 115 individuals have been safely rescued, and efforts to evacuate cadets from the college premises are ongoing.

According to sources, the militants are holed up in a building situated away from the cadets’ residential area. Authorities are clearing the building with extreme caution to ensure the safety of students and prevent any harm.

The militants, reportedly Afghan nationals, have been receiving instructions from across the border via phone.

The entire college area has been cordoned off, and the clearance operation is being carried out with extreme caution. Security sources confirmed that all cadets are currently safe.
